Problem Solved

The Bravedale Group

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Words to live by in an interview.

"All hiring managers have problems. Be their solution", explains Dave Spechek, a consultant to The Bravedale Group. "As soon as you start phrasing things in an interview in terms of what you want, you become a liability."

"Don't fall into the classic trap of explaining what you're looking for. Only one person in the room actually cares about that, and it's not the interviewer. When asked about what you're looking for, or maybe what your ideal role would be, flip the question around. You 'want' to find a great company or role that will benefit from your strengths. And then use that as an opportunity to talk-up those strengths."
